ABOUT ME
My name is Liz, I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSWA). I attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington where I received my undergrad and graduate degrees. I have a wide range of experience working with adults, adolescents and children. My background includes working in a variety of therapeutic settings including residential and hospitals. The therapeutic approach I like to take is to cater to what the client’s needs are. I like to take time to get to know each of my clients and gain an understanding of what is important to them, what their goals are and construct a plan to help create movement in achieving these goals. I view my approach as collaborative, person centered and goal oriented. My specialties include using MI, CBT and I am extensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). This type of modality is useful to gain understanding and coping with intense emotions. Additionally, I provide Eye movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. This can be a useful tool to process anything our brains decide to keep activated yet hold us back from being in the present moment. Feel free to reach out and inquire about these services, I look forward to working together!
